Universal Language: Written by David M. Wallace

The year 2020 is here, it's the beginning of a new decade and we expect more great music & content. As we reflect on 2019, Encore had wanted to share some of our most captivating photographs and observations of a banner year for Gospel & Christian music.

We're all familiar with the saying, “Where words fail, music speaks”. One of our major takeaways and observations was how music can reach across cultural boundaries. Every culture enjoys music and the joy & laughter it brings. It's a language we all understand. Maybe I'm biased, but this is truly embodied by Gospel music, it's not the most popular genre, but it's an American art form that influences almost all genres, from R&B to rock ’n’ roll.

Gospel music showcases a very deep and rich history that can touch anyone. Whether it was a Night Of Inspiration at Bryant Park or the Wingate Concert series in Brooklyn, NY., we witnessed people of all backgrounds come together and become united by one common denominator, the love of music, particularly Gospel music. There is an evolution of gospel music happening, we're just two months into 2020 and the time is now to continue to foster a genre that can elevate and take your spirituality to a new level. The power of music is amazing when you think of what it can do to our minds and bodies

When you can actually see this power on display it can have a life-altering effect on you, taking anyone who listen to deeper places. Music is everywhere we go, it's hard to escape, so there is great potential, a great opportunity to use our "Universal Language" to communicates across borders and cultures.
